Is Anything Too Hard for the Lord?
by Jody Huff
Scripture Reading: Genesis 18

This is the question that an angel asked to Abraham and Sarah, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Time and time again we face challenges in our lives that lead to our faith wavering. Just like Sarah, we say, “How is this possible?” or, “I can’t see any light at the end of the tunnel.” She even laughed inside when told she was going to have a son. Why did she laugh? She laughed because she was past child-bearing age and was barren. In her eyes it was impossible to have a child at that point in her life.

Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Our God spoke the world into existence! I think sometimes we forget just how BIG and POWERFUL our God is. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He is Alpha and Omega – the Beginning and the End. Nothing is too big for Him, not one thing! Before He spoke the world into existence, He knew exactly what you would be facing at this point and time in your life.

James wrote, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials” (James 1:2). Based on this verse, it isn’t a question of IF we are going to face trials, but WHEN. We can rejoice during times of trial because we know that God will never leave us nor forsake us. We also rejoice knowing that trials are meant to draw us closer to God and help us mature spiritually.

He knew us, yet He loved us anyway. Nothing is too hard for our Lord and Savior!
